Advocate action by organizations, institutions, or audience members; ? Require special attention to evidence and reasoning. • Cover a topic that is relevant to your audience and has an arguable point of view. Remember that the target audience for your speech is your classmates, not those people present to witness your speech. o You will conduct an audience analysis of your classmates in a discussion area during Week 4. This will allow you to choose and refine your topic. • Conform to a 5-7 minute time frame. • Use at least 5 pieces of evidence from at least 3 different sources. • Use an organizational pattern appropriate to your argument, but it can not use the motivated-sequence.
